Sometimes it is good to repeat words for emphasis, but if you don’t have a specific reason to repeat a word, especially an unusual word or a set phrase, it is much better to find another way to say it.

For example; we can use ‘on the other hand‘ once in an essay, but if we want to use the same idea later, it is going to be better to find another way to say it – ‘an opposing point of view is.’
